Think this must be a browser hitch, John, someone had it yesterday but it seemed to  go away  :-X

Anyway, here's a link to click on for the list to browse, print etc at will...

Thanks Maggi, always to the rescue.

Great system. Worked beautifully for me !! although I did have to be SYSTEMATIC.

Great service the email confirmation of orders. In Tasmania we have to notify the local Quarantine authorities what seeds are coming in.(An extra level of bureaucracy)
The email will save substantial work for me.

Yes, John the email is handy for you folks.... also the system allows lists to be included easily with the seeds  for those ordering online to comply with NZ and USA regulations, too.
Saves a lot of bother all round.  8)

Hi Maggie,
The list is great. I have chosen the ones I want and am trying to register but I cannot click on the email message or copy it to the web browser as suggested. The same thing happened last year. I do not know what I am doing wrong. HELP

How easy was that?

You'd be surprised how difficult it can be if you don't read the instructions first.

OK I own up, I did forget to register again first which held me up for a minute or two ;)

Remember Folks, the system needs to be understood by all sorts of people, many of whom have English not as their first, or even second language, so the stages are very simple, use common sense and as John says, the secret is to be SYSTEMATIC.... and 'follow the yellow brick road'!   8) 8)

One recurring difficulty seems to be members who don't know their SRGC member number. If you don't  know that you really are going to struggle to just get started.

Unfortunately it is an essential security feature. Or to put it another way, if you don't know it what are  the chances someone else does?   ;)

I have been told by Ian Bainbridge that for those receiving a paper copy, their membership number is on the envelope it arrives in.

There is other correspondence etc through the year that contains it  also..... ;)

FOLKS.... please read this... it may save you from some simple holdups in the seed system......

Some Browser systems are reluctant to open pdf files, Google Chrome seems a sticky one for that.... Firefox is easy  and also Internet Explorer.
Some computers may have extra security which do not allow downloads, that can be a cause of some problems, on top of the browser thing.

You only need the numerical part of your membership  number  eg 91467 - some try to use REW91467.

A  reminder  that the password in the Journal and paper seedlist is only for initial access to REGISTER... then you need to choose your own password, which you will use to LOG IN ... AFTER  you  have clicked on the activation code in the email which will be sent  to you automatically by the seed system.
You  need to check your spam filter if you think the activation email hasn't arrived. AOL customers have most trouble with this but other email services can be similarly over zealous.

You need to read the boxes carefully and not try to REGISTER in the LOG IN box and vice versa.

All this makes it sound as if the system is terribly complicated and a trial to navigate but it really isn't.... if one takes the time to actually read the pages and follow the process it is perfectly easy to do!

For every person having problems there are dozens sailing through the seed request process.

And remember-  If anyone gets it horribly wrong I  will  always try to dig them out of their mire.... it is usually possible!

Hi Maggi,

I'm getting a similar type of error which prevents me from downloading any of the previous year's seed lists and the 2010 seed list.  I used your link in your last email regarding this topic and it worked although I don't know why the earlier ones don't.

I have put together a word document which contains the error messages I received.  I won't include it in this message since it's almost 9Mb in size but will send it to you separately.

Rob

Hello Rob,
How strange that you are having this problem. we thought it must be a question of browser settings , as these things so often are. I will look out for your file arriving and discuss it with Fred. Thanks!
