I've seen it along Hwy 199 flowering in cliffs like the one linked to, in late September.

Anyone visiting northern California or southern Oregon with some time to kill would enjoy the drive from (as it's known to its friends) and .

PS: US 199 passes through the Siskiyous, a floristically very rich region. Not only cliffsides sporting zauschneria, but in Oregon and in California are well known to plant lovers. You also pass near the .

Was there last spring. What a wonderful drive through the redwoods. We saw a some very nice flowers as well.
