Aloe ecklonis
« on: April 10, 2009, 01:53:48 PM »
I collected seed of Aloe ecklonis recently. This is a deciduous, hardy (by South African standards) species that grows in grasslands that are frequently subject to fires during our winter months. It is a summer-growing species from summer rainfall areas.

The flower colour is fairly variable, ranging from yellow to red depending on the locality. The parent plants are all yellow in this population.

Let me know if you are interested in some seed!
