« on: June 24, 2008, 08:13:10 PM »
These are 4 gorgeous Iris' photographed in Peter Korn's Greenhouse in early May - he only had the origin - no names.  All were collected by his brother.

Could anybody of the super specialists out here help me out naming them ?

1 : Iris ex Iran

2 and 3 : I. ex Syria

4 : I. ex Persia no further details

Can't help with names, but..... aren't they all stunning!!  The delicate markings in some of them are just so beautiful! 8)
Cheers.

Not easy to give this Oncos an ID  ::)

1+ 3 are forms something around  I.meda/I. sari  - I. sari is said not to grow in Iran. (if in Syria?)
2. looks like Iris bostrensis
3.4. I agree with Arthur - should be Iris barnumae.

Proof, if any were needed , that Stellan and his companion, the Travel Giraffe, have great taste, too! 8)
See this thread for news of Stellan's recent trip to Iran.......

Maggi,
What we saw at Peter Korn's when we visited (small thread to follow) when we were in Gothenburg was beyond belief !  :o :o
I think he had 2 or 3000 packets of seeds left to sow...  ::) ::)
