Primula May-June 2008
« on: May 12, 2008, 10:17:47 PM »
A picture of Primula Kisoana from the SRGC 2006/2007 seed exchange. I got over a 100 of them and they germinated immediately both in the Winter cold and indoors.

(25/6/2008 - I've been told by a reliable source the plants are actually p. polyneura)

It's a nice Primula, David. They are easy to propogate and will self seed readily. Ours came from the same source and some have to be weeded out. No problem, I said that it is nice.

I'd read on the web that GA3 and specific temperatures were needed to germinate. I was surprised to find it is a candelabra primrose. I'll be happy if it survives, becoming a problem weed would be great.

Thankyou for posting such nice photographs.
Seeing what people grow and then looking up in the books about the plants is a nice way of
finding out about them.
How tall is the P.tanneri? Some of the pictures I've seen in books give the impression of a fairly
short plant, or is it just your long days that let it be so vigourous?
Please post some more of your primulas!
