I'm going to start the post for this month with a few flowers from my garden;

1. Crocus banaticus in bud in my woodland garden, very early!
2. Colchicum bivonae, from Otto a few years ago and everyone who sees it loves it
3. Colchicum variegatum, from Marcus H back in 2014
4. A pure white Cyclamen hederifolium
5. Oxalis lobata, a gift from Fermi when I was over for Oron's talks.

2) Rhodophiala bifida pink
3) Rhodophiala bifida blood red
4) Haemanthus barkerae
5) Cyclamen rohlfsianum

Rohlfsianum has beautiful flowers. I hope my seedlings do, but until then I'll enjoy the leaves.

The two very early Crocus banaticus are in full bloom while others aren't showing above ground yet.

I hope everyone who went to the Ferny Creek Hort. Soc. plant sale today had a great day and found a treasure among the plants being sold. I was lucky enough to have a friend there who acted as my proxy so although I wasn't there I didn't miss out entirely!

March seems to be peak Colchicum month here:
1) Colchicum byzantinum - "Mrs Craig's form"
2) small species/hybrid from Jon B
3) Colchicum NOT sibthorpii
4) Colchicum byzantinum - received as "Lilac Wonder"
5) Colchicum cilicium "Atropurpureum"

Colchicums are my favourite autumn plants. It is so nice to see them flowering when everything else is starting to die.
Not-sibthorpii seems to enjoy the sun!

Hi Fermi, there was a discussion recently between Trevor, Anita and myself about a very similar looking Colchicum to your NOT sibthorpii. If it's the same one Anita had recorded it as C parnassicum, from Marcus. A defining characteristic is that they are very pale when first open and darken as they age.
