« on: March 04, 2020, 12:45:57 PM »
Haemanthus barkerae grown from seed from Silverhills in 2003.
This is the best flowering because usually it gets attacked by slugs!
cheers

Beautiful flowers, Ashley.
You grow them so well considering how different your climate is to their origins!

Thank you Steve and Anders!  :)

@kik:
not so easy to describe my watering plan, depends on species, temperature, air humidity.

My wintergrowers get water in September when there is a temperature drop. Then many of them start growth.
All other get next water in October and then normally start growth for winter.

In Autumn as long as is it warm at day most of them get water about every 2 weeks, very rotting sensitive species like namaqunsis, arenicola only once a month.

In Winter when it is cold and the greenhouses are closed most of the time some pots dont get any water for 2 months because the soil would stay wet to long
Small pots get little water.

You see, its not so easy to describe.
Butt better to less water in winter then to much water and rotting roots. Sometimes I wait in winter till the leaves wilt a bit and then they get water
