Very  nice  selection of  photos, Philip, thanks!  I like the  comparison of Hyacinthoides lingulata and H.  ciliolata  - good to  see  them both .

Hi Maggi
The thing the photos don't show (and I didn't photograph them side by side either) is that the H. ciliolata was smaller and more compact than the H. lingulata as well as a darker shade of blue.  You can just see the edge of the H. ciliolata to the right of the H. lingulata.

Good point, Jon.  They  do show the  differences  in  leaf growth though, which is  handy I  think.  :)
