EAST CHESHIRE A.G.S. SHOW 3rd May 2008
« on: May 04, 2008, 12:24:24 PM »
East Cheshire A.G.S. Show was held on a gloriously sunny 3rd May at a brand new venue in Hazel Grove, near Stockport. Many congratulations to Liz and her team on another super show. We couldn't stay for long (due to grandson commitments later in the day) but I hope I managed to capture enough images to give you all a feel of this lovely event.

The Farrer Medal (for the best exhibit at the show) was won by (yes, you have guessed it) Holmfirth's prolific Geoff Rollinson with a beautiful Primula bracteata.

I hope you enjoy this briefer than usual glimpse of some of the plants at the show?

Don't we all Luit? :'(

Thanks so much Cliff for this wonderful record. I remember the East Cheshire show with fondness as it's the only one I have been able to visit - way back in '81, except for the conference show of Alpines 81. But the regional shows seem to have a lovely "family" feeling to them, with everyone knowing and helping each other. I think that's a precious asset.

No, but Keith Lever sells the plant.  I've bought it twice now  ...  both departed quite quickly to that great rock garden in the sky ...    :'(  (no fault of Keith's of course!)
