Killerton House- 23 January 2019
« on: January 23, 2019, 08:04:38 PM »
Our first garden visit of 2019 today and our being creatures of habit it was to Killerton House. The National Trust owned Killerton Estate is situated just outside Exeter and the estate was left to the Nation by the Acland family in 1944. The gardens and parkland were originally designed and planned by John Veitch in the later part of the 18 Century.

Regular readers of the Forum will possibly have seen my pictures before (ad infinitum) of the massive plantings of Cyclamen coum in the Church Yard. All I can say is that this year they didn't disappoint.

The landscape around is  lovely - and there are lots of plants of interest - and  if your heart does not sing at the sight of those  cyclamen then I think you'd  be  dead! They are truly  gorgeous. Lots of busy ants over many years, I guess.   A real pleasure to see these photos, David, thank you!
