Please note  change of date for Edinburgh Show to 13th April, from the provisional date  and the  lack of the Highland, Nairn, Show  which has not been able to find a venue for 2019.

The new Show  Secretary for  the Perth Show  is  Alison Hogg.

GARDENING SCOTLAND 2019
Show Dates: Friday 31st May to Sunday 2nd June

The Club will have a stand and display at Gardening Scotland 2019, at the Ingliston Showground in Edinburgh. We plan to have a similar educational exhibit to that in 2018, with a display of plants and troughs, although other ideas are welcome.
As usual we need Club members to help.

Daily Set-up: Monday 27th to Thursday 30th May

First, Set-up. We would appreciate help with assembling the stand and setting out the plants, from Monday 27th till Thursday 30th May. Setting up involves building the stand, carrying plants and materials, arranging the plants, writing labels, as well as setting out the seeds and information tables. It is essential that the stand is tidied up by removing dead leaves and flowers and other tasks so as to bring it up to the highest standard.

Second, Show Days. We need volunteers to man the stand on the three show days (Friday to Sunday). This involves engaging with the public, handing out leaflets, talking about the Club, local groups and the benefits of membership. There will be questions about the plants, usually growing conditions or where they can be bought. All the seed packets are labelled. You don't need to know everything because other members are there to help you.
There is a prearranged rota and volunteers choose their own time slots. We would welcome some new members helping this year. It is good fun and an excellent opportunity to meet fellow Club members at Scotland's top flower show.

If you would like to help please contact Richard or Stan:
Stan da Prato standaprato@talktalk.net will be in charge of the stand
Richard Green treasurer@srgc.net is organising the rota
Sandy Leven will be joint stand manager sandy.leven@btinternet.com

What's On at Inverewe❓ The  next  SRGC David  Boyd  event!!

The Inverewe Rock garden project

Planting has always focused on the NZ flora and we have a large selection of such suitable plants ready to be planted into the new landscape that will be created.

In addition to the construction work on the rock garden we have arranged two talks:

Inverewe Garden Café
7pm Friday 6th Sep - Rock Gardening in Troughs and Containers – Ian Young
7pm Saturday 7th Sep - Crevice Gardens - Paul Spriggs

👨‍🌾 Subject to the weather a demonstration of landscaping in troughs and containers will take place near the rock garden at 2pm on Friday 6th and again on Saturday 7th September.

Find out more: https://www.nts.org.uk/visit/events/inverewe-scottish-rock-garden-festival

Inverewe is working with the Scottish Rock Garden Club to offer a joint programme of talks and workshops looking at many aspects of rock gardening with leading experts Ian Young, Julia Corden and Matt Topsfield.

Wednesday 4–Monday 9 September

*This event is included in the garden admission price (free for members).

Not only talks but the chance to see  Canadian, Paul Spriggs and  Czech, Zdenek Zvolanek - two modern crevice garden experts @NTSInvereweGardens this September!!
