Thanks Angie!
I hear from Matthew Topsfield about the show : "A great turn out by all the growers and showers! 115 entries in 61 classes by 18 exhibitors. Thank you all"

Only3 of us braved the elements to visit Cluny Gardens. It was worth it for the autumn colours. Just a sample by way of Acers and an unusual balsam which John says nobody has a name for. It seeds around, he says, but surplus are easily pulled out.

Very wet squirrels at Cluny, taken by a very wet photographer with umbrella in one hand and camera in the other!

Award winners. Some nice plants in section 2 where Maggie Duguid won the East Lothian Cup for the best plant with her Saxifraga Fumiko while David & Liz Livermore took an SRGC bronze medal for most points. In the Open section Roma Fiddes won the Jim Lever Memorial trophy as well as a certificate of merit for a very good Cyclamen mirabile. Margaret & Henry Taylor received the AGS Ulster Group Quaich a travelling award which this year went to the best foliage plant - the grey leaved Senecio leucophyllus. George Sevastopulo was given a well deserved gold medal for a very large display on the Burren in the west of Ireland

By once again bringing most plants I retained the Mary Bowe trophy for most points. I also came home with the East Lothian Trophy for class 3 three alpines -this year all gentians- the Peel cup for the best three gentians, the Logan Home Trophy for a mini garden and the Mowat Trophy for the best conifer a dwarf Japanese larch now in autumn colour which to my delighted surprise also received the Forrest medal.

Just want to say thanks to all the organisers for making it a great weekend . It’s just some much fun. The talks were 1st class, usually I struggle a bit as the day goes on but with those talks I was wide awake all the way.
Great meeting up with everyone again and hope you all made it home safely.
Tomorrow I will planting up all my new purchases
Thanks again to everyone.

Hope you managed to get your planting done Angie, might take us a little while to get ours done ... too much temptation on the sales area
Darren and I would also like to add our own thanks to the organisers for a fabulous weekend.
After missing several years it was great to be back amongst friends, old and new, once again, and whilst there were a number of absent friends they were not forgotten with a glass was raised to them during the conference dinner.
Inspired by the excellent and informative lectures we have come away with a wish list of things to grow and places to visit.
Susan (and Darren of course) x
