Loaded  for the last show of the season tomorrow.  Contrary  to popular belief my car is not elastic and some plants have to be left behind including  this rhododendron.

Oh dear, shame that one has to be missed out - mind you, you may not have got in the car yourself  even if it had been your only entry, Stan  :D

Indeed not - I mentioned to Angela only last week that you appear to be a shadow of your former self - I referred only to your large rhododendron - no euphemism intended!

It may be that taking phone pix in a greenhouse is tough, or perhaps David Millward and Cyril Lafong really are in a fug!

The first  set of five shows   Cyril and his fine plants starting with the  very large double white   Trillium which won him his 57th Forrest medal. This led to the somewhat obvious comment that he must be full of (Heinz) beans at this achievement. Passing swiftly back to the plants he received  merit certificates for two  very well formed albeit in very different  ways  saxifrages  as well as the Esselmont quaich for  for three rare or difficult  plants -more pics of these later

Ian Christie received the Craig Cup for best Primula with P sieboldii and well deserved certificates of merit went to group convenor Mike Hopkins for a Lewisia Joyce Halley that had been in contention for the Forrest, Anne Chambers for an Arisaema taiwanense, Nick Boss for his Leontopodium pusillum

In a  well filled section 2 Dave Aitken had the best individual  plant with an Arisaema even though it was one of a two pan that together came  second to Angel Townsley's very nice pairing of a Cypripedium and Trillium which won the Bull trophy. Erica Beaton won the cup for a junior exhibitor.  Back in the open section I received  the Simpson salver for the pink Rhododendron  in the group of six in Class 1 as well as the Walker of Portlethen trophy for again bringing  in the most plants
