Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday... Graeme Butler of Rumbling Bridge Nursery is going to be setting up an Auricula Theatre - a feast for the eyes!
David asks me to advise you that 'In addition to all of this we have arranged for the Nairn Beer and Music Festival to be held over the weekend, Thursday to Monday. Well worth visiting if you are into that sort of thing.
http://www.braevalhotel.co.uk/bandstandbeerfestival.asp'.
Meanwhile Stan has already sent in 33 entries for the show - anyone up for beating that?
As always there will be amazing cakes and home bakes, I'm sure I can hear Angie drooling from here
If you actually manage to drag yourself away from the show and down to the west beach you may well spot a few of our much loved Moray Firth Bottlenose Dolphins passing through on their way to feed off Chanonry Point.

Definitely going to be sitting back and letting others do the work Maggi, I'm not going along to the set up on Friday afternoon at all! Doubt I'll be there for the whole day on Saturday but will do my best to be there for a while. Wouldn't live feed web cams be great

The plants are mostly small ones as I now have trouble with larger pots. Before and after loading snaps attached - now off to drive north.

Forrest medal went to David Millward's plant Saxifraga pubescens 'Snowcap'. David tells me the benches are looking good and lots of visitors to the show - hope someone takes a few photos

Indeed they did. First David's well proportioned saxifrage that took the Forrest then his Cyclamen rhodium which won the Askival bulb trophy. The Culloden Cup for best primula was won by Francis and Margaret Higgins Auricula Black Jack; they who also won the Weir Shield for best plant from a local member with Erigeron Canary Bird and a merit certificate for Bolax gummifera.

Ian and Carol Bainbridge received a merit certificate for their Clematis marmoraria while in a very good section 2 another merit certificate went to Jim McPhie's Rhododendron Egret. The Dunbarney Salver for best plant in section 2 was won by Colinne Souter with her Morisia while the Roslyn-Shirras Tankard for most section 2 points was won by Jimmy Macdonald.

Graeme and Hilary Butler from Rumbling Bridge nursery mounted a most attractive Auricula Theatre which received a gold medal. Back in the open section I received the Highland Trophy for bringing most plants and the Grouse Salver for Rhododendron kaempferi hybrid Connie.

Now for a round of the section 1 benches. Classes 1 and 2 are for 6 and 3 pans respectively. Also the class for a rare plant with notes.
