Willie Campbell of Gargunnock is a rhododendron buff - and SRGC member too , of course! Take a look at the new website for the gardens -  http://gargunnockgardens.co.uk/

From the new website :

"There are over 5 acres of garden to visit which include woodland walks, formal gardens and a highly productive walled garden. Gargunnock Gardens always offers lots to see whatever the time of the year. In February the gardens and grounds are awash with snowdrops and these are soon followed by banks of daffodils. Miss Viola Stirling the last proprietor of the house left notes saying she planted 96 varieties of daffodils throughout the grounds. April, May and June see the rhododendrons and azaleas take centre stage while in the summer months the 18th century walled garden busts into life, with extensive borders of herbaceous plants, cut flowers and wild flowers. Fruit and vegetables are grown here and a new orchard has been planted along with many interesting trees. Autumn brings the spectacular the red, gold and bronze tones of trees and shrubs along each side of the drive."
