Thanks for all this Maggie, v helpful. I'll be giving the Myddleton House scrum a miss in 2016. Advancing years persuade me to follow Shakespeare's dictum "He that hath no stomach for the fight, let him depart". Perhaps Dunblane instead? I hear you Scots are so much more civilised....

Does anyone know dates for 2017 ?  National garden scheme need the 2017 garden open dates in the next two days and I really want to go to the AGS event in 2017 and I always seem to clash with them with my own openings  :(

My garden, Higher Cherubeer, will be open for NGS on Sunday the 7th and Friday the 19th of Feb. in 2016 so anyone who doesn't get a ticket for the AGS on the 6th and fancies the southwest I'll be delighted to see you  ;)

The first AGS Snowdrop event was in 2014 and took place on the first Saturday in February.  Their second and third events were/will be on the first Saturday in February so it is fair to assume their pattern will continue.

Shaftesbury took-over from the Galanthus Gala with the second Saturday in February slot.

The HPS has always used the day after the Shaftesbury event so (based on this year) that is the day after the second Saturday in February.

The CGS snowdrop group traditionally use the third Saturday in February.

Jo, the Friday before the Shaftesbury event would be the best day for me to ever visit your garden so it might be a good day to open in 2017.

Wonderful,  thanks so much Alan and Arthur,  I will book the Friday before Shaftsbury and any other Sunday than the first one in February for my snowdrop openings.

I love the order of a logical mind.  I wish mine was more analytical.  ::)

Of course there is the Welford Park Snowdrops and Specialist Plant Fair 25th February 11-4

Not sure who is going to be there yet. Foxgrove and Mike Collins were there last year among others including us (Edulis).
It was a well attended day given that it didn't stop raining!

I will try to get more info on who is attending
