Gentiana ID please help
« on: May 12, 2015, 05:04:33 PM »
this Enzian I bought many years ago on a vegetable market. It grows in the harsh climate Allgäüer quite good, on calcareous soil and sows also made.
Our native gentians grow so individually. This one makes upholstery.

angustifolia ???
The flowers are similar to our native acaulis in size, shape and color to be confused.

Hard to say for me, Bernd - but I'd suggest  G. angustifolia because of the stems.  :-\

and the narrower leaves. I've not seen this one though we do have white and palest blue forms here. It looks a beauty, less chunky than acaulis.
