Person seeking Crocus seed to buy to seed old orchard
« on: November 06, 2014, 02:17:15 PM »
Gerhard Kleinhans has contacted the SRGC to ask if we can help :

He writes : "I got your address from Mr. Sanders, Essen, Germany, because he thought you could help me  find seed to buy of crocus for my  large daffodil/old fruit tree meadow. Best would be crocus sorts which increase strongly by seed :  there are problems with root voles!
If wished, I can send your expenses cash in advance or if someone likes to go in exchange with peonies. I am a private collector in this plants too(www.baumpfingstrosen.de), All plants are fit for very cold and bad climate, the old varieties of fruit trees, too. My garden is in a wet cold climate of Germany, 700m above sea level near the border Germany/Belgium.
It would be nice  ifyou could help.

Best regards

Gerhard Kleinhans "

There's always some seeds left of species like tommasinianus after a Crocus Group seedex. The left overs of this year have been sown but I can see what I can do next year, if he can wait that long.
