A behind the scenes visit to Kew yielded a few nice Junos.  The collection is still in the care of Tony Hall so the plants are mostly in excellent condition.... (unlike their crocuses :'(

Iris vicaria -2 forms
Iris warleyensis - one of my all time favourite plants.
Iris wilmottiana
Iris fosteriana
Iris galatica

Admittedly, not quite in such good condition, but here's a few pix of Europe's only Juno - Iris planifolia - in the wild, photographed last week in the Benaojan-Montejaque area, near Ronda, in S Spain. Spot the odd white one?

Dear Rafa,

in my opinion your plant belong to I. vicaria. It is too early for J. bucharica. There is only one clone which looks very pale: J. bucharica `Swan Wings`

Here a ident plant: J. vicaria `Hodji-obi-garm`

For Heaven's sake! I missed this topic altogether and many thanks Maggi for drawing my attention to it. Don't know how it happened as I look at EVERY new topic and notify the ones I want to keep on board.

Fabulous plants and pictures from everyone, a great pleasure to see them all. The KEW plants are outstanding as is to be expected from Tony Hall. Thanks especially for those Tony (G).

Dave, I suppose you'll be going back at seed time?  ;D Or anyone in Spain? All mine come from either Tony at Kew (but not including planifolia) or from eastern European sources which tend to have the western/central Asian species rather than the single European. My two batches from AGS seed both turned out to be white magnificas. I'd love a chance to try planifolia from seed.
