Bulb Log 03 2014 - 15/01/14

Your narcissus frame looks just like a magical melting pot to me, especially placed under a twisted bare tree with mistletoes that is black against the glowing clouds at dawn. Many wonderful forms and fantastic hybrids of hoop-petticoats are created in the frame during the twilight… The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ Ian Young ;D

Tatsuo, Sorry for not replying sooner but I have been off flying on my broom stick ;)

Yes the bulb house does produce many magical moments for us as does seeing in the forum pages all the wonderful  plants that  others are growing all around the world. With this outreach and connectivity of the forum I may be able to hand up my broom stick.

It is not mistletoe but a growth mutation that infects some growth buds causing this congested stunted growth. The growths do not seem to harm the tree and are very popular with the birds as ready made nesting platforms - some smaller birds create a nest inside the growths. That is the neighbors tree but we have a a sibling tree which also has them see a previous bulb log http://www.srgc.org.uk/logs/logdir/2010Dec291293655437BULB_LOG__52.pdf.
