We were greatly entertained by Cliff at the Blackpool Show last spring - I think that might have been The Cream of Alpines (not forgetting Lewisias.)

For those in our part of England, a bit south of North Northumberland, I see Cliff is speaking at the AGS Cleveland Group on January 14th. I am greatly looking forward to it - Even though I will also be at the North East group the day before for Alan Furness on Wengen. Good to have something to do on these cold dark nights

Many thanks Peter.  Much appreciated.  I am presenting 'The Definitive Dolomites' at Cleveland - you will surely have had an overdose of European alpines by the time you have completed those two events. LOL.

Yes, not long now Cliff - I've got my fingers crossed that the Scottish weather will be mild and delightful to welcome you and ease your travel around the country.
I'm pretty sure it will be  sunny - have you got snow chains for the tyres?  ( on the car!!!)

Many thanks, Darren ... looking forward to the visit.

Maggi, I'm 63 years old now and have managed to spend my life without owning, using or even seeing snow chains ... I hope this continues.  ;) :'( :-* :-X :-[

Well, if you're sure . but Anne said they'd had use of them last weekend.

It's good to be prepared, you don't want Sue  putting her back out

Where did you get that lovely image of my wife and our car?

Should have gone to Specsavers!!!   :D

I honestly wouldn't know where to get chains or how to use them, Maggi ... I'm not blase, just naive.

I can't honestly think of anyone I know in Scotland with snow chains for their car, Cliff, so I don't think they can be too necessary.
Besides, the warmth of the welcome should melt any snow......  ;D
