Pleione bulbils

Simple question you would think, what is the one best way to grow on bulbils?
All ideas and confirmations will be appreciated.

Hi Jon,

I grow my bulbils in seed trays or shallow bowls. Fist a layer of medium bark, then a layer of chopped and moistened sphagnum moss. I sprinkle the bulbils over the surface and give a final thin layer of fine bark. This will retain moisture and make sure that the bulbils don't jump about when watering with a fine rose.

Bulbils grow alongside my adult pleiones, same conditions, temperature, feeding, watering etc. In the autumn I pick them out of the compost and sort them by size. All are treated with spraying oil and overwintered in seed trays on layers of newspaper, no compost. Late January they are grown on.

I hope this helps.
