It won't be long now!

Does anyone have a good image of a yellow form of Lewisia tweedyi please? I bought one last year (a premium price because it was a yellow form!) and it has just opened it's first bud. To me it isn't yellow and is not unlike my pale apricot shade normal form-should be open enough to take pictures next week.

David, Cyril the Squirrel shows a lovely yellow form of L. tweedyi  there will be a photo in a show report somewhere- probably Perth - I'll have a search around......

I think in 2010 the lemon tweedyi was fantastic - in case anyone wonders, that year the Forrest was won by a Sebaea thomasii ( also grown by Secret Squirrel!)..........

David, this one is known as 'Lemon Form' and is very similar to Cyril's plant

This is one I grow under that name, David - not as "yellow" as Cyril's I'm afraid...    but not bad either...

Well, thanks folks. The light does make a difference doesn't it, in certain lights Cyril's plant looks really yellow and in others it looks just an enthusiastic version of all the others. Do you know Maggi if Cyril's plant was grown from seed or if he has made it available in the trade? I'll reserve judgement on mine and see what you all think when I post comparative pictures of it.

I don't know where Cyril plants came from- I'll ask him in the Czech Republic next week!

All the plants I grew from Nargs seedex, yellow form, a dozen or so, came a pale apricot.

These are pictures from my yellow form, I got this plant many years ago from
our Czech friends Olga and Rudolf Duchac. Ruda selected this yellow form from
own seeds of his splendid collection. It is so sad, that bad health doesn't allow
them any more gardening at all. They were so kind and gave me always
so much support with plants and good advice.

Dear Rudi,   yes, it is very sad to see old friends become frail and no longer able to enjoy their gardens - but it is so cheering to have plants which remind us of them and the impact they have made on us. In this way their hearts are always strong.

Rudi's plant is a good yellow, Roma's a lot paler (it may well be the light is different) and nearer to my supposed yellow but with out the hint of apricot.

Here are my plant of Lewisia tweedyi, grown from seed some years ago that I've always referred to as being an apricot shade, compared to the yellow(erm!) I bought last year when it was out of flower. Maybe I'm colour blind?
