that's quick! Are you sure they weren't bulbils? ;D
Here are a couple in our rock garden - the second pic is of one from Otto which he tells me came from Portugal originally which is why I was keen to get it!

Definitely seeds Fermi. That's the second flower - the first, which must have opened last week, went over before I noticed it! I've only had one set of exchange seeds since arriving and the pot is clearly labelled Feb 2012. I didn't manage to get sorted for this year. Probably just as well, as I want to see what thrives before I add to the number. There Mediterranean spp. that I have of my wants list, like Urginea, and ideally, I would like to source bulbs of these and others in New Zealand rather than try seed which may take forever to flower.

I see this is still 2012, but no matter. Leucojum vernum flowering outside today. Does it usually open wide like this?

Acis rosea and Acis autumnalis.

For me the first "autumn bulb flower" every year is Acis rosea. Now I can soak the pots and frame ;).
