Welcome Diane........and good luck in your search. The amaryllids are fascinating plants, are they not?

I was thinking you might be able to get seed in if its on your permitted list.

Since it's been here a fair while it should be on AQIS's list, though a quick ICON search doesn't show it.
You could try joining the Yahoo Australian Bulb list; several people there may be able to help.

Hey Diane, have a look here http://www.facebook.com for Bay Bulbs

Which mix will you be using?
How deep in the pot?
Temperatures?

Hi Ezeiza
When i bought it yesterday, it was bought at a place that specializes in orchards both the one i bought and the 3 large ones they had were being grown in a quick draining orchard mix.....all were very healthy, so I will prob stick with that...if its not broke dont fix it.
Temperature here where i live in aussie land is sub tropical. I will repot it into a terracotta pot simply because they are quite porous and expel water through the pot when it needs to be repotted and then leave it so as not to desturb it too much....its all a learning curve. Its my belief that you can get tooooooooooooo much info on the net and it will do your head in lol

Seems Worsleya do so well in Aussie, the top growers of this plant are from Australia! If you need any advice Ron Redding would be a great person to ask as well as Glenn Callcott!
I know people who grow this plant from Canada to Switzerland, Northern US and HOT Mexico to California! Some are growing this plant in blonde sphagnum moss with GREAT success, I don't think it's as difficult as a plant as once thought.
Good luck!
