Title: Pests!
Post by: afw on July 09, 2007, 08:43:11 PM
For the second year running I have small (10mm) green caterpillars attacking the tips of the new emerging leaves on my potted rhododendron (R. Razorbill).

Any ideas what they might be and how to eradicate them, presumably with a systemic insecticide but what.
any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know what the caterpillars will develop into, Alan, we sometimes get them, too. If you would care to avoid any chemical treatment then you might care to just wash the beasts off with a jet of water....  and it is easier to do this with the plant in a pot..... hose the pests off in an area where the birds will find them and finish the job for you.
