Here is a lovely species: Primula flaccida.
-
One of my favourites and relatively long-lived, within its section. And oh, the perfumme.....!
-
Beautiful!
-
Looks like I'll have to put another one on the list! Wow.
-
Wow ! what a great looking Primula Anthony !
Never seen it before !
It will be going on my wants list !
-
Anthony,
Primula flaccida is simply beautiful. Thanks

I have some new season's seed if anyone is interested. Carlo? Luc? anyone else? It was harvested around March and has been packeted up ready for seedlists but is better as fresh as possible so.....It germinates well.

What a disappointment. In a moment of idle curiosity I decided to cross pollinate Primula Aire Mist with P. Wharfedale Bluebell parents shown below. How jolly diappointing to see the first progeny to flower. Perhaps the others will be better but I don't hold out much hope.

John, whatever are you moaning about? Maybe the colours aren't true but surely the seedling shows potential? Maybe a second generation will be of interest? i.e. the seedlings from the pink seedling? (assuming it's fertile of course). If the colour of the seedling pic is true, it's a lovely clear pink and maybe it will grow to have the same flower power as `Aire Mist.' Or how about trying the reverse cross? Don't throw out the seedlings just yet.
-
John, maybe it's because I lack your experience but I would have been very happy had I produced your seedling. Well worth persevering with I would have thought.
-
Anthony, I nearly missed your Primula flaccida, what a cracker. If you ever have any seed to spare I could find it a good home :o
-
I'll send you some tomoprrow David.
-
Anthony,
Only caught this now. A beautiful plant.

Well, tomorrow's come and gone. Have to be tomorrow now :D (Monday).

Anthony,
A belated congrats on the pic of the flaccida. What a plant and what a picture!! Beautiful!!
John,
Why exactly were you disappointed? The seedling looks lovely to me!!

Thanks for all the positive comments about the Primula cross but I don't think it has the charm of either parent. I will post its siblings when they flower, hopefully next year.
