Title: Eremurus species?
Post by: Gerard Oud on May 16, 2007, 05:05:12 PM
Is there a foxtaillilly specialist on the forum, who can tell me what kind of species this is?
I got these ones about ten years ago from a neighbour but he didn't know what kind of species it was.
Please let me know and if anyone is interested in seed from this plant, there will be plenty this year i think.
kind regards gerard.

E. himalaicus has white flowers, from the photo they look a bit pink, so how about E. robustus, another tall growing species ?

They are a bit pink and reach up to about 2 meters and sometimes a bit more, could it be atchinsonii?

Not being a fox tail expert a quick Google found that Eremurus aitchinsonii, syn Eremurus elwesii could be a possibility.

Thanks Andrew, i tried the same but what you get is long lists with names and further no information.
What i hoped for was there would be a Mark Smyth of the foxtaillillies who had a complete site with pics and information. I'll keep on searching!
