Sometimes you don't need flowers. (Although I did allow a cone in.)

 brunnera 'Jack Frost'& epimedium
Athyrium 'Silver Falls' and Asplenium scolopendrium 'Crispum Nobile'
 Athyrium Filix-femina 'Victoriae' type
Eryngium 'Jos Eijking' & Sedum 'Mohrchen' seedling
 Polystichum setiferum ex 'Divisilobum Bland'
 Pinus parviflora and golden yew

Wonderful Anne I especially like number 2.  Looks as if there will be lots to see on your Garden Open Day.

One probably wouldn't want to, but one COULD garden without flowers at all. I'm always attracted by the combinations of foliage shape, colour and texture.

This group is giving me pleasure at present with winter well on the way. A young Euphorbia mellifera, E. myrsinites and Othonnopsis cheirifolia. The latter two will flower through winter. Apology for a poor picture, the sun is at the wrong angle this time of year and the ground is sodden, so I wasn't going down to it.

No apology needed, I like the strong shadows.

Anne, this thread is just up my street (I have an album named as such on my computer)  I absolutely love ferns and foliage and the effects that the light plays on them in the garden and in the wild.  Your combinations are beautiful.   :)

There is nothing finer than a fern unfurling. (I wouldn't like to say that twice in a row! )

Anne,

Actually, it isn't that hard to say even a half dozen times.  Being the idiot that I am I just HAD to try it.  ;D ;)  No problemo.  ::)

A little more difficult, but possible.  But then I am just reversing the order of the words, not actually the letters in the words themselves.  I am going to stop now.  :o

 ;) :P
