Cyril was happy to allow the article to be shown here... he wrote...
"No problem at all.  Hopefully this will encourage more people to show their plants.  An article along the same veins, entitled 'Growing in the Alpine House' based on the lecture I gave at the discussion w/e in Glasgow last year, will appear in the next edition of the 'Rock Garden'.  This will be in 2 parts and Anton has just started working on the first part.2 "

So, more to come in The Rock Garden from the Glenrothes Greenfinger  8)

Maggi, firstly will you please pass on to Cyril my thanks for allowing his article to be published on the Forum and I am absolutely certain it is going to be of great benefit to me.

Secondly, very many thanks to you for taking the time and the trouble not only to set out the Article so that it can be downloaded to my PC but also for the index to the many articles in The Rock Garden. I shall shortly get out my CD of previous journals (another valuable reason for joining SRGC) and do some more downloading :-* :-* :-*    :-[

Certainly I shall thank Cyril for you, David.

I must say, even though Ian and I are fortunate enough to have every one of the SRGC Journals here (barring one or two early ones) it is a great boon to have the CD versions...... I have the cd loaded on this machine and I am able quite quickly to find items and I have the luxury to be able to sit at leisure with the paper copy if I so wish. The journals are a grand resource.

..and for people (like me) who only joined in the past couple of years, I was pleased to find Glassford had spare issues of the Journal to fill the gap
from the end of the CD to the beginning of my subscription.

Good point, Giles : Glassford has spare copies available of many back issues of the journal... you may email him ( replacing the A with @ ) at this emaill address: glassfordspruntATaol.com

I am pleased to tell you that Glassford has recently had a second eye operation and is now recovering well with his two repaired eyes, which is a great relief to his many friends.   :D

Is there any chance that the CD of previous issues is still available?

The CD with numbers 1 to 113 of The Rock Garden was a limited edition "goodie"  sent out to members
 ( in 2006, I think ) ........

I can cremate you one, Mick..... no, perhaps the technical term for which I seek is " burn" you  a copy!
PM me with your postal address, please.
