Title: Watsonia
Post by: johnw on June 21, 2022, 06:48:22 PM
I was surprised to find this Watsonika sitting beside the ghouse staring in at me in full flower. It's at least 25 years old and came from  Vancouver, BC, either from Vera Peck, Southlands or the SRGC Seedex.  It has never flowered with flowers this size, only the third time in 25+ years. The closest species is W. pillansii (aka beatricis), it's a big evergreen thug to a metre high. I think it has greatly appreciated this long cool damp Spring.  Any thoughts?
