Title: A pleasant few hours

I have just spent the last 4 and half hours browsing here https://www.plantarium.ru/page/samples/taxon/41500.html its incredible the amount of iris i was unaware off.

Yes, I could go on and on....The good thing of that site in particular that it provides photographs of these many unknown species.
the Kew Science site that I use as my source of reference provides 306 species for the genus Iris!

Sometimes the Russian site uses a synonym instead of the accepted name by Kew. It simply adds some salt to the query.
I'm trying to grow my own collection of species irises here so I've been multiplying those few pleasant hours consistently for some time already. Of course, with such a wide diversity plus the intrinsic difficulty of access to seeds from the 'rarer' species, a goal like mine can take decades. But then that's part of the fun of being a botanical nerd.... :)
