Fred Hunt, one of the heroes of SRGC growers and exhibitors, judge, speaker, stalwart of the local Angus Group and SRGC Honorary Vice President, has died.
He passed away peacefully, in his sleep in the care home where had lived since the death of his wife Alice some years ago.
Fred was a tremendous grower, a friendly, generous soul and someone for any exhibitor to try to emulate, with immaculate, beautifully presented plants in perfect condition on the show bench.
His like will seldom be seen again.
