Few pictures just to give an idea of a beautiful, unique place to visit in Southern Ontario - Whistling Gardens. A private Botanical Gardens that came to life by sheer vision and hard work of one person, and now hosts thousand of trees varieties, evergreens and deciduous; also various perennials and, more recently, many herbaceous and tree peonies.

For some reason their website address won't open; anyone can google for it.
A favourite spot is the rockery, or better said the Alpinetum; now with the addition of trees and itoh peonies even more attractive. It is very hard to select just few pictures.

What a wonderful leafy place! But it looks like they need to pay for their domain name renewal!
Edit: Problem fixed, those interested can read more about it:

Yes Maggi. I tried it again and then I contacted the owners, maybe they forgot or didn't pay attention to the renewal notice.
Spring is such a busy time.

Looks very colourful Gabriela and presumably very fragrant with those bearded iris and peonies.

Yes Gail, extremely colourful! But this is just a small glimpse of this very special place for us here; we are not spoiled with so many Botanical Gardens and other Collectors places like in UK and in general in Europe.
The conifers collections are the largest in Canada at least, surpassing those from renown Botanical Gardens, like the one in Montreal for example.

And few more pictures :) starting with the emblem birds of the garden and various trees.

I did not have any problems with the website: http://www.whistlinggardens.ca/index.php (http://www.whistlinggardens.ca/index.php) so I guess the issues have been resolved. The gardens are in Wilsonville (Ontario) which is south of Brantford, should you wish to visit.

Thanks Alan, I mentioned that the issue has been fixed before posting the last set of pictures.
Yes, in driving distance from Toronto on a major hwy if someone has half a day to spare.
