It's not the first of the year, it's even one of the latest of the spring ones but it is the most elegant : Acis longifolia (from Corsica)

Acis tingitana is in full flower already

Acis autumnalis very early: started flowering at the start of August, and still producing spikes. This one was labelled "autumn splendour", but I don't know what that signifies.

Acis autumnalis just started to flower here in Portugal with the first rains. These were taken yesterday, the beginning of Autumn. ;)
