Hello,
This is my first post :)
A quick video of my Lithops collection. For information i grow them in a small greenhouse (as you can see) and i keep them in winter frost free (France, near Lyon)

Gail you made me laugh when you said football like plant . I had a lovely plant like that but found it being used as a football by my nieces French bulldog. I was devastated as I had it for years and I finally got it to flower. Won’t ever flower again :'(

That is (was?) lovely Angie - a caudiciform ipomoea? And are you sure it won't flower again? Some plants are amazingly resilient....

Googled your plant and it’s so lovely.
There is no chance of my plant ever flowering again , it was mush . I don’t know how the dog wasn’t ill . Maybe will try and get another one.

According to the first site google comes up with "Ipomoea bolusiana has an edible tuber, the small tuberous roots are roasted or boiled" so perhaps the French bulldog was an epicure...

It is an interest of mine that some rather innocuous foods are at the same time poisonous to some of our domestic pets.
Take for example chocolate for dogs and onions for horses.
Could be that dogs can't eat the tuber in question.

And thank you for this beautiful simple video without music. I feel often / always assaulted by the music that accompanies the videos, except of course if it is a music that I seek.
Have you ever been to ELK in Blankergbergue?

Point taken Arnold. And of course it is interesting/cautionary to learn that lily pollen can be toxic to cats etc. Although in Angie's anecdote it sounds as though the plant came off worse than the dog.

ElK: it's a European meeting of 3 days, always the 2nd Weekend of September, which is located in blankenbergues in Belgium (Near Ostend). I do not know where you are in France ..., I've never seen more variety in cactus, succulent and caudex than in this expo sale. there are merchants as individuals who expose their plant for sale.

At the beggining no, but now i grow them from seeds. There are very easy to sow (no i have to much, my greenhouse is too small !!!! :)

Glad you amended your post Michael. Yes, it wasn't a particularly good joke, but they all count these days! I'm thoroughly enjoying the Westminster shenanigans, never heard as much 'piffle' as we've had in the past three years. What we need is a bit of honest to goodness benevolent despotism ;D
