New book launch at Chelsea Flower Show.
An authoritative new book, Meconopsis for Gardeners, this is a collaborative project between the Alpine Garden Society and the Scottish-based Meconopsis Group. It will be edited by Dr Christopher Grey-Wilson VMH, with contributions from members of The Meconopsis Group and other renowned growers and experts on the genus in Britain and abroad.Meconopsis are among the most eye-catching and appealing of all alpine plants. Introduced originally from the wild in the early years of the last century from the Himalayas and Tibet, there is now a complex array of forms and hybrids in our gardens.The Meconopsis Group was established in 1998 to study all the known forms with the ultimate aim of identifying with certainty those previously named but also to give names to others deemed of excellent constitution, garden-worthiness and, perhaps most importantly, distinctiveness.
The 384-page book will be launched at Chelsea and after that will be available to order from the AGS. There will be a special introductory price for AGS and Meconopsis Group members, to be announced soon ...

This new book will also be available from the Meconopsis Group at Gardening Scotland.
Prices for the New Meconopsis book are confirmed as a price of £37 as a special show offer, both at Chelsea and Gardening Scotland. After that it will be £50 for non AGS/Mec Group members and £40 members price.
23rd May - news from AGS : "The book costs £52 but is available at the Chelsea Flower Show for a special show discount price of £38.
For more information contact us at the AGS Centre or visit the AGS stand on Eastern Avenue at Chelsea (EA 424).
The book will be available to order on the AGS website from Tuesday 30 May. The special Chelsea offer price will be available to Members for a short period. "

In spite of the previous message, from AGS HQ, via two senior Mec. Group and SRGC members, the AGS has just posted this on Face book : " These prices still not confirmed AGS have only just had invoices in, the price will be announced at #RHSChelsea at the launch ... as soon as I have I will confirm"
- so it seems we still have a wait to come.
