Earlier this week there were comments about Paul's pots and buckets. I thought I would get the ball rollong with a new thread for those who wish to show their not so neat areas. We all have them because we are all plantaholics - buy then think where to plant.
I hope I'm not the only one

When my back is 100% I must clear all the junk from the green house
-
I was going to say that it doesn't look too bad, then I saw this poor wee daff, struggling to survive with its prickly pot companion..... :o.....
[attach=1]
I meant to take some of our junk today but got rained off at one point, then sidetracked by dog-trimming and walking!... Perhaps tomorrow, after work at the BEEB :-[
Molly our lodger arrived today for a couple of weeks,..... as you'll see by her "before" photo, she was in a pretty furry mess, even without weeds!
-
well I can tell you there are 3 in that pot. Two accidentally lost their heads while I was weeding the pot. Roll on 2009!
-
Mark,
Do you plant anything?
Yes, I have lots of pots also but they are of plants I have propogated and are waiting to move on to someone else or somewhere else but not my garden.
Maggi,
Here in Ireland a "hairy molly" is a childish name for caterpillar - those hairy ones.

I'll tell the wee dog that, she won't be impressed,: Westies are very proud! :-X
My friends and I called those hairy caterpillars "pussy pillars" but I don't know ifthat was just our name for them or if other Scots children use it. :D
-
This is how the hairy molly looked an hour or so later:
-
Granny Grey Bird or is it Beard
-
pixelated? LOL
-
Yes, she is rather pixelated, now I see it on screen! Poor little soul :-[

And if we are talking about the same caterpillars, we call them "furry bears"....(orangy-brown and prickly catepillar?)

That's 'em! Does make me wonder how often you see bald bears, though.... I know those Americans are fond or their Bald Eagles......... ::). ::) ???
Here are some of our messy spots, better not seen by visitors. Sadly, most of these areas are only too easily seen by anyone visiting.... not hidden away at all..... :P :-[ :P :-[

Kristl, note orange snow shovel in pic two: just waiting to dig you out!
-
I'm glad to see other people have stuff in pots too long. The trouble is I buy stuff I really want without thinking about preparing places for them.

As you do - or rather I do or rather, we ALL do.
-
Mark,
If those are your worst areas..... you DON'T want to see my place. Many of my better areas are worse than your worst areas!! :o ::)

O yea we all (at least I) do. However, what can one do? This particular plant is only available here and now. If I wait until I have the space, it is gone :(
I have no picture of my pots but this is what my woodland looked like at the end of March last year.
Five weeks later it looked better - but there is still the junk in the background and a fresh cover of weeds.

So even weeds have their uses Gote? Actually, this doesn't look like junk. More like work-in-progress. :)

That's usually my excuse too! ;D
-
One day I'll get the hang of this forum thing... ::)
-
My problem isn't buying plants --it's what to do with a rapidly increasing number of germinated seed pots when the garden is absolutely 'chocka'.
My excuse for the following mess is that it's a work area not work in progress.
Cheers dave.
