A memory of Jim from Panayoti Kelaidis, who writes :
"Just scanned some transparencies of Jim (and one of Jenny) Archibald I thought you might enjoy seeing. Jim and I traveled to South Africa together in 1997: he asked me a few years later if I wanted to go back again with him. One of the many regrets in my life is that I didn't. He was a great mentor and an inspiration to so many of us. I shall always easily summon his gravelly, Edinburgh burr in my ear [and his impish witticisms] and will cherish his memory forever. "
