Hi Ian
Another great Log. Planting to give colour and effect through the year takes time and you have achieve a handsome result.
How deep is the gravel where you lifted the lawn, and what is beneath? All my gravel overlies sand but I could incorporate some soil or humus to encourage seeding.

Thanks Chris, the gravel is around 7-10cms deep and sits on our sandy garden soil. We simply removed the turf layer and spread the gravel.

Thanks Ian, I'll leave mine as it is then.
