Welcome to the Forum James (with 2 "h's" in his surname) :) Sorry I can't help with the Prunus seed. I'd be very interested in a source myself, of the small Prunus species.
I remember a post on Trillium-L I think, about Mertensia seed. Mmm? And I was going to send seed to you of Codonopsis convolvulacea but then there was a note somewhere about moving to Florida so I thought you may not want it any more. But the darn thing was broken off last year anyway so there was no seed. It's doing nicely now though. Still interested?

James,
I am inclined to ask, 'What in the name of god would anyone want with Prunus spinosa seed.' Of course that is simply because it is such a common plant around here. I haven't put them all into sloe gin, not enough gin around here to use them all up. So, let me know more - like how much seed do you require, where to etc?
Don't delay, winter is in and sloes are in demand from the bird population.

I guess James has lost interest in getting seeds

More like lost my mind. :)
I'm afraid I simply forgot about this, along with a few other things. I've been daydreaming since I finished Autumn classes on the 6th.
I'll pass on the Prunus spinosa for this year, and check back somewhat earlier next fall!
I want to grow sloes for the gin, the wildlife value and the fact that I collect Prunus.

James there are still many dried sloes on the bushes that havent fallen yet.
