So, Zephirine, where are the pictures of the baby ? ... so said Maggi to Zephirine after she returned from visiting the newest member of her family.....
So, I thought I'd open a page to gather these cute kids together!
-
Don't you let me start on this subject, Maggi, I just couldn't stop! ;D
Here are just 2 pictures....
May I tell you a secret? I think this gal's going to be a fair gardener some day: while her parents are of the "marmot" type (late to bed and late to rise), she's already at the best of her mood early in the morning, like her Granny, and we spent many an early hour together, talking with our hands and smiles...we're going to be a sweet pair of accomplices, I'm absolutely sure!!!!
Ain't she the sweetest and cutest little seedling ever on earth?
Zephirine, the "melted grandma"
-
Oh, yes, that is one cute baby! She has a kind of determined look, too, so that proves she will be a gardener, doesn't it? :) She is Naelle, is that right?
-
Perfectly right, Maggi, thank you!
Proud grandma
-
Beautiful ;D ;D ;D ;D
Signed: I wanna be a granddad whilst I'm young enough to play with him or her and I'm rapidly getting past it!
-
Patience, David : I've been singing exactly your song over 13 years before I could get a positive answer!
So don't you despair!
Zephirine ;)
-
I've got daughters of 32 and 26 and a son of 29 and none of them are doing their bit to prolong the species and more to the point none of them are the slightest bit interested :'(
-
Now, David, that gives you three more chances of being a Grand parent than I've got :-[
I think I'd be a pretty good Granny but I've well and truly missed that boat! :-\ :o
Now you can see why I am so devoted to our little dog...... Poor little Lily has to work very hard around here to be a pet, a companion and a baby substitute... and she is very good at all her tasks! :D
-
Chances, yes; actuality NO and I'm not allowed to have a dog either ;D What a life I lead, might just jump off the Tamar Bridge! ;D
-
Nah! Just go and enjoy the view of it! Nice bridge, I have never seen it in real life. Well, I suppose I mean nice pic of bridge, really... beautiful sky like that will make any bridge look good!
-
A night of grandad Mick looking after Saffron you need a view like that to wind down!!!!
-
What a stunner, Mick.... which side of the family does she get her hair colour from?? ::) ::)
-
Hush, little Grandpa-to-be :
My son (-Naelle's father) is 33 1/2 today.
When he was 32, he would not even hear about having children!
Life is full of surprises, and when it decides to give you one, it can get pretty fast! ;D
Just after his 32nd birthday, in April 2006, he was offered a super-job in Sweden...we got to organize a wedding in 3 weeks, so that his girlfriend could follow him...and there...as DDIL didn't speak a word of swedish...no possibility for her to get a job immediately...I think you guess the rest of the story! ;D ;D ;D
Zephirine, still bewildered!
-
What gorgeous hair! Maybe not from Mick's side of the family but at least he has some, unlike some others whom we shan't mention.
David, not allowed a dog? Who is the man in your household and who the mouse? Or maybe you don't need a dog because you're already leading a dog's life? Assert yourself man!
-
<sigh>
I SO want kids!!!!
-
My apologies but I just cannot resist contributing to this topic...our first grandchild has contributed so much to our lives that I find it impossible not to post these images.....
Paul....just believe, and Father Christmas might give you the present of your dreams....all our fingers and toes are crossed.....
Shelagh....you MUST be tempted to post here as well.....?
-
Oh my goodness, don't apologise, he's as gorgeous as any flower and growing nicely, too.
-
Gorgeous.

Not so much a baby photo but a "bloody hell, they grow up fast don't they!" photo:
Our boy offspring, Misho, returned from a school exchange trip to France last week with his first proper girlfriend , Freya, in tow. They've known each other for years through both belonging to the local Woodcraft movement group, and he asked her out on the beach in France.
He shares his Dad's good taste, I think. But oh my God, where does all the time go?! Feels like that was me just a few years ago!

Could be the start of a whole wonderful new range of problems Martin? ::)

I'm the mouse Lesley with 37 years of practice and you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I really do like a quiet life :P

Ian took one look at the pic of Misho and Freya and said 'Mmmhmm, a boy after my own heart.. got himself a beautiful redhead already!'

It must be genetic. ;D Misho likes girls with red hair and I always have as well. In fact one of the first girls I ever really liked, at primary school in Broughty Ferry, was a red headed girl called Myra McLeod. Freya looks a bit like her, which is what probably made me go all deja vue when I first saw the pic.

Apologies, Maggi, for switching the subject to me. I realize that was all about you. Here's an appropriate awwwww! Just goes to show though, Ian, me and Misho are all have great taste! ;)
-
Mmm. Four of my last five girl friends were red heads! :P

Up north of the border you're just spoiled for redheads! >:(

Maggi could you please pull the picture "log ness" from the Harlow Carr topic. This shows daughter Mel with her first "real boyfriend" . Whole lot of different emotions when a daughter is involved Martin. By the way we are reading your book 'My Baby Brain' to Saffron now. Of course she says she's already read it, after all she is 4.

Whole lot of different emotions when a daughter is involved Martin.
Already been through the oldest daughter's first boyfriend business some years ago, Mick. She (Rosie) is now settled down (see pic) and yes it is a different set of emotions. Though I think I'm actually a bit jealous with Misho!! The boyfriend-girlfriend thing all seems much more casual and easy for kids these days (they see so much of it on TV for a start) whereas when I was a kid it was a much bigger deal, much more awkward, and in my case many opportunities missed due to lack of confidence and general idiocy! These days the kids seem to be brimming with confidence and more at ease with one another. Long gone are the days of pining for that pretty red headed girl you kept bumping into at your school Scottish country dancing lessons but never knew how to approach! :-[
-
Here is Mick's daughter, Mel, with her boyfriend... I think he's the human, not the log ness monster.....

-
Anthony, I'm not sure the vivacious red-haired Vivienne would likethe way you've worded that!
-
Ooer :-X I won't tell if you don't Maggi. :-[
-
Paul....just believe, and Father Christmas might give you the present of your dreams....all our fingers and toes are crossed.....
Cliff,
Going to take a bit more than THAT for it to happen!! ;D However, it won't be.... after multiple miscarriages for no discernable reason we stopped trying a number of years ago. Doesn't stop me wanting kids though!! ::)
Congrats to all on the recent additions. Some real cuties in there, even the log ness monster!! ;D ;D ;D
-
I never have but now that a friend has two the eldest just turning three I would have minded one if I could buy it at maybe 2 1/2
-
My younger daughter, Zuza (short for Zuzanna - Slovak name), was chuffed to appear in this photo with me for one of the local newspapers, with a short piece about my children's book going into Waterstones and selling its first 1,000 copies. Yes, Lesley, I know she's got lots more hair than me!
-
She's beautiful...must have one hell of a good looking mother!

Oh yes!

Oh well, her Dad's OK too. Congratulations on the first 1000, and I hope there are many more sold by Christmas time.
