Over on the Galanthus forum there is an interesting thread on a novel type of snowdrop that has a third tier of petals http://www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=10185.0 (http://www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=10185.0) .  I just wanted to ask the narcissus experts if there are narcissi that do this too?

 :D Just been discussing this with Ian.

While some daffs will throw odd doubles their difference in the floral structure, with the entire trumpet, mean that these appear very different to the shape and form of the galanthus in question.
When stamens do become petaloid they tend to be rather untidy and usually do not extend beyond the trumpet.
We haven't seen anything  here that would equate to the "petticoat" snowdrops.

Yes, I guess only the split corona daffodils are similar in flower shape to a typical Galanthus.

A petticoat hoop petticoat could be quite nice.. ::)
