Title: Primula Tantallon
Post by: Pennine Wanderer on February 19, 2013, 04:15:08 PM
In 2010 I bought Primula Tantallon from a reputable nursery.  Last year I split the plant into several smaller plants to grow on.  This year one of these smaller plants has what appear to be 'semi-double' flowers. Apparently P.Tantallon is a cross between P. Whitei and P. Edgeworthii neither of which has double flowers.  Has anyone any suggestions as to why this may have occurred? The attached photos were taken this morning.

Just a small aberration I should think. See what happens when it grows on some and produces further flowers, or maybe wait until next year for a truer picture.

Thanks for your thoughts Lesley.  It will be interesting to see what happens next year.
