Some cactii
(1/1)
ruweiss:
This Mammilaria is since more than 20 years in my small collection, maybe one of the experts
can help me with the true name.
Got this plant from a senior in our club, he simply called it Red Echinopsis.
Both of the Echinocereus are totally frost hardy and I am always pleased by
their profuse flowering in spring
ruweiss:
Astrophytum asterias

Rudi,
Thank you for your posting. I had no idea that Echinopsis or Echinocerus were hardy.
ruweiss:
Marc, Mammilaria, Echinopsis and Astrophytum are not hardy and need a frost-free
place during the winter season.
There are many species of the Genus Echinocereus which are fully hardy. They can stand
very low temperatures when they are in dry soil, but like moisture in the time of their active
growth. Many fine and floriferous plants grow in the Southwest of the USA.
MarcR:
Rudi,
Thank you for your response.
