hi Lesley Cox,

That is funny.  I have noticed that folks do not pay any attention to crocus.
I have had many folks tromp across my lawn quite oblivious to the pretty flowers.
I have always puzzled about that.
Maybe when I get a carpet of crocus going they will not be trampled.

ah well, the little plants seem pretty tolerant of such treatment.

It certainly doesn't kill the plants but it seems a shame to lose the flowers in this way. I used to have clumps of very small beared irises at the bases of some troughs. People leaned across to look at the plants or labels in the troughs and never noticed the irises, even when they were flowering. The poor things were continually trampled so I had to move them and stick with a gravel surround.
