I put these 2 pictures on the Magical Meadows thread but no one there has come up with any names.  Can you help?

I 've been puzzling that from your other thread, Shelagh... not getting very far though. :-X
Might the second one be Rubus caesius ?

The first one looks like R deliciosus and the second could be a hybrid but I don't think it is caesius. Does it creep or arch?

The first was 3-4 ft and rather sprawling.  The second was only about a foot and the only one we saw.  I have struggled to find anything with a leaf shape like it.

I would say no. 1 was Rubus parviflorus - size and sprawliness fits too. I saw deliciosus in Gøteborg last year and that was more upright and taller. Here's a picture of both, the first from my garden:
