Lesley, I take it all back, you are an openminded, evenhanded soul ! and as for this:

your 1000th is rapidly approaching. What do you fancy?
since you are good enough to ask, I'd quite like something rich and meaty to welcome Lily and wish Cain good health......rough chicken liver pate, perhaps ?

I do forgive Lesley too Maggi, when she sents me that 1001 cake. No i had forgiven Lesley already because she looks like my mother(true), and my mother can say everything, not that i do something with it but so.
kind regards,
gerard

I see a new moniker appearing for Lesley:
Cake maker in chief
& mother to the forum members.

Oh God, I don't think I can live up to that one. Though I already think of myself as a sort of extra (and totally un-necessary) mum to Thomas and Tim and surrogate gran' to their children, so why not Gerard too. Welcome to the family Gerard. But NOT in my atavar please Maggi!

Maybe we should call them Alien Snowdrops, like Mr Spock said to Captain Kirk "it's life Jim but not as we know it, not as we know it".

also interesting is the split spathe
Here is one from a garden I was in today. The flowers look sideways and up. It looks better than 'Blewbury Tart'

That one is fun, Mark. Looks like a skirt being blown in the wind, very Marilyn Monroe!

I think you have seen this before Mark, a extra petal coming out of the spathe.
