From Pam Cruickshank:  " Tickets are selling out quickly for the "Snowdrop Study, Sale and Social" on February 13th. There are 11 tickets left (at the Shaftesbury Arts Centre Box-Office) as I post this. Delighted we've added Hilfield Priory and Heale House as our snowdrop visits for the day.

I gave some thought to going to Gerard Oud's Gala last year but the location seems to be inconvenient to access by public transport and driving there from Schiphol airport would require you to negotiate Amsterdam.  Can Gerard or anyone else propose a strategy to get there?

By train it would take around two ours to get there( from Schiphol) and by car an our and 15 minutes at least.

Thanks for that information, Loes.  I guess the car journey would not be do bad but I feel a bit daunted at the prospect of attempting it on my own.  Anybody else want to make up a party?

For those of you not too afraid to come up North...We are having a weekend of snowdrops near York next February. I've potted 60+ varieties of snowdrops, including virescents (greenies), green tips, inverse poculiforms (Trym types), doubles, yellows, giants, earlies, lates, affordable classics, and specials which cost a lot more! I hope there will be something for every taste and budget. There will be a few selected rare daffodils, and hopefully some anemones and hepaticas too.Please note that Dryad Nursery itself will NOT be open to the public.

Hmm, about 70 miles between Tuxford and Kexby.  So one could attempt to do the CGS Snowdrop Event on the Saturday then the Yorkshire Snowdrop Trail on the Sunday and stay-over somewhere in-between.
