I think Michael Broadhurst has some.

I have never had a refund from him for his mistake

He sent me an ordinary one first but when I complained he replaced it without quibbling and the replacement is definitely correct.

Thanks for posting on my enquiry
Paul Christian say's the following on his website:
A PS:- We have now observed that this stock can throw some single flowers. If this happens (it does not always) then it happens after transplanting, when in an unsuitable spot, or when stressed. If left undisturbed the plants throw double again next year. We have rogued the stock of all singles (only to have these singles revert to doubles again) but if it distresses you, then you can return the plants to us. However keeping them and letting them settle will usually cure the problem. We have noticed that when it is having a 'single' period, this double form sets fertile seed.

I have Eranthis flore pleno, it is far from those with single flowers. The flowers of the double form, is always double. Seedlings have so far also been double.
Mike, I have sent a PM to you.

HI Ulla I have sent a PM to you. :)

I agree with you Ulla, our stock originated from Denmark some 25 years ago; we have increased from division & seed but never saw a 'single' flower. I think there is a similar (but not identical) clone called 'Noel Ayres' which i believe does not set seed (??). Perhaps now there is a third clone that sometimes reverts to single flowers?? I don't want it.

At some expense I obtained a small pot of two eranthis pinnatifida. Could the cognoscenti please advise on my best strategy of keeping what is reputed to be a particularly difficult little eranthis? Grateful.

Hi Steve,
I'm afraid I have no advice, but would like to know where to get E. pinnatifida myself please? How much will I be paying as well please?
Thanks,
Lewis

Likewise I know nothing, but I immdeiately took to wondering if you could cross-breed eranthis pinnatifida with a more hardy sepcies of eranthis (like hyemalis) to produce something equally beautiful but better-suited to local conditions?
Lewis, this site has a price, although no actual stock http://www.rareplants.co.uk/product.asp?P_ID=472&strPageHistory=related

Thanks Alan,
I've tried Rare Plants before for Eranthis and they never seem to have what I want in stock. Any other sources that anyone has would be welcomed.
Interesting idea to cross these species. Quite radically different in appearance, wonder if E. stellata would cross as they are more similar in appearance and point of origin?
I'm only just getting into Eranthis and currently only have E. hyemalis and E. cilicica and E. h. 'Schwefelganz'. Will be buying some Guinea Gold to replace plants sold to me under that name which definitely are not. Other than that I'm a beginner who's caught the bug. I intend to buy Potterton's range of Eranthis this autumn to build up a decent range for the garden.

Westonbirt has had pinnatifida on its fall list the past two years.

I got mine at the Loughborough AGS Show three weeks ago. I think it was on the Edrom stall but I could be wrong.
